Dr. Abbey L. Askew
Dr. Abbey L. Askew is an Instructional Technology Enthusiast with over 20
years in education at the local, district, regional and state level. Her
experiences include service as a public school middle and secondary
English teacher, Instructional Technology Facilitator, 6-12 Instructional
Coach, Professional Development Consultant with the North Carolina
Department of Public Instruction, Digital Innovation Coach with the Friday
Institute at North Carolina State University and Assistant Superintendent of
Curriculum and Instruction.
Abbey’s work encompasses a deep commitment to coaching teachers and
redefining professional learning experiences through engagement and
laughter. As the CEO of PinkyGeek Consulting, she continues to foster that
commitment by developing and designing interactive e-Learning
experiences for educators. She frequently presents and keynotes at
national education conferences and has moderated Future Ready Summits
sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education. Most recently, she served
as part of an innovative collaboration with WestEd and Google to create the
new Value Add of Technology on Teaching Framework.
Abbey currently resides in eastern North Carolina where she spends time
filming her comedic YouTube cooking show, aggravating her two adult
children (Mikee and J’ali) and adding to her extensive sneaker collection.
