Amanda Jones
Amanda Jones is the 2021 School Library Journal Co-Librarian of the Year, a 2021 Library Journal Mover and Shaker, and the 2020 Louisiana School Librarian of the Year. She was named one of the 30 K-12 IT Influencers to Follow in 2022 by EdTech Magazine and was a “featured voice” at the ISTE 2022 Conference in New Orleans. Amanda is a 21 year educator from Watson, Louisiana, and was named the 2019 LACUE Middle/Junior State Teacher of the Year and an AASL 2019 Social Media Superstar. Her Journey with Jones series, in which she travels the world with her students using the power of virtual reality, has been featured in American Libraries, Library Journal, School Library Journal, and Scholastic publications . Amanda blogs monthly for the American Association of School Librarians’ Knowledge Quest and hosts webinars for school librarians. She is the founder of her school’s after-school STEAM Club and facilitates two Girls Who Code clubs at the middle school in which she works.
