Tony Vincent

With a knack for simplifying tech and amplifying creativity, Tony helps teachers refresh their practice and reimagine what’s possible.

Tony Vincent is an educator, creator, and consultant based in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He began his teaching career 27 years ago in a fifth-grade classroom, where he helped pioneer 1:1 learning with Palm Pilots in 2001. That early leap into educational technology led to the launch of Learning in Hand, Tony’s long-running website dedicated to practical tech tips for teachers.

He later became a school technology coach, guiding students in creating media for real-world audiences—his school even launched one of the first student-produced podcasts back in 2005. Tony eventually shifted into full-time consulting, partnering with schools across the country to make learning more creative, student-centered, and tech-savvy.

In 2018–2019, Tony returned to the classroom, where his fifth graders became Chromebook superusers and inspired the creation of Shapegrams.com, a collection of digital art challenges that promote creativity and visual thinking.

Today, Tony serves as the AI Coordinator for the Council Bluffs Community School District, helping educators use artificial intelligence responsibly and meaningfully. He continues to lead workshops, present at conferences, and publish his Learning in Hand Newsletter—all while staying connected to the classroom as an occasional substitute teacher.
